What Is VFX Editing ?

VFX editing, or Visual Effects editing, refers to the process of integrating computer-generated imagery (CGI) and other visual elements into live-action footage to create seamless and realistic visual effects in films, television shows, advertisements, and other forms of media. VFX editing is a crucial part of post-production, and it involves various techniques and tools to enhance or create elements that would be impractical, dangerous, or impossible to achieve during actual filming.

VFX editing involves several key steps:

1. Pre-Production Planning:

Before filming, VFX supervisors and teams work with directors and cinematographers to plan and storyboard the scenes that will require visual effects. This includes deciding on the types of effects needed, understanding camera movements, and ensuring proper integration with the live-action elements.

2. CGI Creation:

Computer-generated imagery is created by skilled artists using specialized software. This can involve creating 3D models, textures, animations, and simulations to match the desired visual effect.

3. Integration and Rendering

The final VFX shots are rendered, which involves processing the 3D data to generate the final images. These images are then integrated into the live-action footage using compositing software.
